Anthony T. Gonzon

Anthony T. Gonzon, Sr., 68, of Newark DE, peacefully passed away into eternal life on November 5, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Susan T. "Sweetie" Krakowski Gonzon with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

Born on February 5, 1941 in Wilmington Hospital, he was the son of the late: Frank and Margaret Cimino Gonzon. Anthony attended St. Peter's High School in Olde New Castle and joined the National Guard after graduation, he then enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Korea. Anthony worked at Allied Steel as a draftsman and at General Metalcraft and Deltech Engineering as a purchasing manager. He then took ownership of Elanco, Inc. in 1989 as president. He put his sweat and tears into his company up until his illness.

In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by his sons: Anthony T., Jr. "Anth" and his wife Kim of Middletown and Andrew "Buddy" of Newark; daughter: Angela N. "Dollbaby" and her companion Jen Dieste of Ocean View; grandchildren: Kayla Marie and Anthony Jacob "T.J."; favorite Goddaughter Peggy Ann Wilson of Easton MD; siblings: Francis "Zeke Gonzon, Dominic Gonzon and his wife Donna, Sister Francis Carmel, OSF, Joseph Gonzon and his wife Susan; his dog Riley and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Josephine T. Knight and her husband Donald and sister in law Marie Gonzon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Gebhart Funeral Home, 531 Delaware St., Olde New Castle. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 521 Harmony St., Olde New Castle, DE. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery.
