Bennetta “Bonnie” Parkinson, 90, of Claymont, Delaware went home to be with our Lord suddenly, Friday, March 23, 2018.
Bonnie was born in Wilmington, Delaware. She retired from TWA after 23 years of service. After 14 years, she went back into the work force as the hospitality hostess for Liberty Place Chick-fil-A in Philadelphia, commuting daily by train for almost 10 years. Bonnie was affectionally known as “Mom Mom” by staff and guests alike. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church for 40 years, where on many Sundays she could be found caring for kids in the nursery.
Bonnie is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, in addition to her daughters, Beverly Dougherty and Barbara Parkinson. Survivors include daughter, Bonnie (Harry) Marcus of Elkton, seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren in addition to her brother-in-law, Jack (Cathy) Parkinson. Her joy was in her Savior, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her many friends and her great love of animals.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11:00am at Concord Baptist Church, 2510 Marsh Rd., Wilmington, DE. 19810. Friends and family may gather at 10:00am at the church. Interment to follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Hwy, New Castle, DE. 19720. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church,
