George S. Mielnik

George Mielnik died on August 23, 2017 after a long illness.  He was born in Przemyśl, Poland to parents, Michal and Stephanie Mielnikiewicz in 1941.  He emigrated to Delaware in 1948, becoming a citizen.  He graduated from Salesianum High School and found his life’s work as a teamster, retiring in 2004. For those who knew him, he was a talented man, who was always there to help others in extraordinary ways and more than willing to share his dry sense of humor.  George lived in Elkton, Maryland with his wife and loving partner of 35 years, Bonnie "Anna" Mielnik where he embraced the family of his wife and the family of his in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Eugenia; daughter, Debbie Barnett; granddaughter, Rachel Gammon; and nephew, Mark Gland.  He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Adrianne (Tim) Gammon; sister, Hedy Gland; brother, Ziggy (Barbara) Mielnikiewicz; grandchildren, Thomas and Courtney Barnett; nephew, Nicholas Mielnikiewicz; and grand-nephew, Zachary Gland.

Interment will be private.
