Jean A. Henderson

Jean A. Henderson, age 82, of Wilmington, DE passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Christiana Hospital. She was the wife of the late William G. Henderson, who passed away in 1980, with whom she shared 33 years of marriage.

Born in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Sophie Wolfe. Jean retired as a Bartender at the Knights of Columbus Brandywine Club in Claymont, DE. Mrs. Henderson was a member of the Claymont VFW Hall Burke Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, trips to Delaware Park, fishing and she was an avid NY Yankee Fan. Most of all, Jean enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Henderson and his wife, Arlene of Bear, DE, Michael Henderson and his wife, Diane of Claymont, DE; daughters, Barbara Henderson of Wilmington, DE, Dolly MacNamara and her fiancAC., Ken Northwood of Claymont, DE; daughter-in-law, Lyn Henderson of Lincoln, DE; 10 Grandchildren, Teri Elliott and her husband, George, Theresa Richards, Brittany MacNamara,, Michelle Stollings and her husband, John, Chrissy, Belinda, Billy, Christopher, Regan, Michael Henderson; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, William Henderson.

Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 7-9 pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, November 20, 2009 at 10am at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
