Joseph Spirk Obituary

Joseph H. Spirk, 75 years of age and longtime resident of Claymont DE, died

unexpectedly on February 3, 2018 near his home in Claymont DE.

Joseph was born in Philadelphia on December 15, 1942 to Herman Spirk and Madeline Sattler. He was a veteran who served in the military, both in the Army and the Air Force. He met his wife of 33 years, on a cruise ship bound for Bermuda in 1985. He worked as a Courier for DHL for 25 years and entered retirement in 2011.

Joe was a proud, devoted father and husband. He enjoyed auto races, traveling and

going to the movies. He always had a laugh ready, and that laugh and smile will be

missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Spirk; his children, Marina Blasy and Joseph J. Spirk; his siblings, Richard Spirk, Carol Benner, Mary Kluge and Susan Mozeleski.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, February 12, 2018 at 8pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where friends may visit with the family from 6pm to 8pm. Burial will be private.
