Lawrence Edward Small, Sr.

Lawrence Edward Small, Sr., 71, of Hopewell, VA passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, John Small, Jr. and Agnus Elsie Short Small. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Lynn Small; son, Lawrence E. Small, Jr., and wife Tia; daughter, Carrie Lynn Jones and fiancé Shawn Pierce; grandchildren, Amber Lynn Small, Joshua Alan Jones, William Valencia, Sonia Valencia and Brenton Wayne Pierce; sister, Carol Buchanan and husband David; sister, Eileen Blansfield; brothers, David Small, Albert Campbell, Johnny Small, and Ronald Small; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Lawrence served in the U.S. Navy and was awarded two Bronze Stars for his service during the Vietnam War.

A Viewing will be held at Gebhart Funeral Home, 531 Delaware Street, New Castle, DE 19702, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., where a Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
