I Had know Rick for many years. He was a great person and will be deeply miss by all
I got to know "Trooper Rick" when he was the Claymont High School School liaison officer in my senior year (1979). Talked to him pretty regularly, in fact, he was an inspiration for me to go into law enforcment when I joined the Air Force right after graduation. Condolences to the Santobianco family and hope to see Dave at the CHS reunion on Nov 27th.
I had the privilege of meeting Rick some thirty years ago. It doesn't seem possible that we have come to this crossroad. My sincere and deepest sympathy to each of you. I know how he looked out for all of you when you needed it the most. There are no words that can be spoken at this time to give you relief. But, as you go through the days ahead, some will be bluer than others, take the time, wrap yourself in a warm memory of Rick, your beloved brother, uncle and friend.
Sincerely, Shirley Babe
Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. Sadly, Dot and Joe Enney
God bless you and all the family. We knew Rick many years ago but have not seen him for many, many years.
We hope all is well with all of you.
Our heartfelt symphaty to all the family. We knew Rick a long time ago, but have not seen him for many years.
God bless you all.
Judy,
Sorry for the loss of your brother Rick. I will never forget the fun times we had together. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Again, our condolences and if there is anything we can do, please call us.
Paul and Kristy
JUDY, My deepest sympathy to you and your family. He sounds like he LOVED all his family and friends. That right there says it all. Thinking and praying for you. LOVE, Kathy Herlehy - Douglass
Rich was a good friend....i will miss him.....
Judi & Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Ricky. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Ricky was one of the "special" guys that my Mom would say had a "good heart" and indeed he did. He was always kind and gentle and had a quiet strength about him. I knew him primarily in high school but still have many special memories of him and can still picture that slow special smile of his.

To all of Rick's family and friends:
I am truly sorry to learn of Rick's passing. We were brother Troopers and Academy classmates. I have very fond memories of Rick and the years we spent as troopers.

Judi, I did not know your brother, but it very obvious to me how devoted a family you all are. I offer you my most sincere sympathy on the loss of your beloved brother, and will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. With compassion, Leni (PMRI)
When I first started bartending I always had wonderful times with Rick and Timmy. I loved walking past Rick in his usual chair and just barely touching him...he would jump out of his seat and give me the "Rick" look.
My best memory (which Rick and I spoke of for many years) was when Ernie (Pops) and Rick started play fighting in the bar. Chairs were turned upside down and both grown men holding each others throats were on the floor giggling like they were 10 years old. It scared me because I was new to the bar and I wasn't sure if this was my first "bar brawl"!
My prayers are with all of you...especially my other family, Jeff and Judi. I love you all as much as I loved Rick.
My husband and I wish to convey our heartfelt sympathy at this time to Judi and the entire Santobianco family.
We were so saddened to hear about Rick and our prayers are with you all that you will be comforted in the love of your friends and family.
I was so sorry to hear of Rick's passing. We served together as troopers at Penny Hill. He was a good man to work with and was always willing to help out with a carpentry project. I know he will be missed by his family and many friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Mike and Marta:
Our hearts go out to you. Loosing Richard so suddently makes the hurt even stronger. But please remember to always keep the joys that you shared with him in your heart.
With sympathy,
Annette and Larry
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. My you find peace in knowing he is in God's house.
I went to school with Rick at CHS. My brothers knew him better than I did as he was their age. But I did know Rick later on in life. He was a fellow Police Brother to my husband. My husband is retired from NCCPD and knew Rick on the job. He always said nice things about Rick. I knew him from school and he was a great guy. He will be missed and I send my heartfelt condolences to his family. I am so sorry. He was so young. Joanne Marion
My heart aches for all of you. I love your family dearly. I cherish the many memories of living at your house, traveling with your family, your cousins - on and on. I have such fond memories, and of course Ricky is part of all of them. The laughs were always hardy and often.
I pray that God will give you each His peace and will comfort each one of you through these difficult times.
Jude, Mark, Robin, Michael, David, Jeff, and rest of family....
My heartfelt sympathy on Rick's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of all the times shared at your parent's home, or Jude's house, during both happy and sad times. I felt so at home with all of you and was honored to be a part of your family's closeness and tight bond, especially during some tough times. We shared joyous occasions and sad times. Your strength and ability to laugh at the precious memories you had with those who passed carried you before and will carry you again.
My first memory of Rick was in junior high school at the Ashbourne Hills Swim Club. He was always nice to me, almost protective. In later years, I have a lasting image of Rick coming into the Claymont Fire House at Stephen's fundraising event. It appeared that the doors flew open, Rick decked out in a suit strolled through the door (someone trailing behind him), with that particular walk of his, slowly made his way around the room making sure to stop and chat with everyone. He certainly had a commanding presence as he made his way to you, Jude, and Stephen. And, so, that is how it was for years. Rick arrived later than everyone else and always made a grand entrance. Quite a guy!
There was no doubt how much Rick loved his family and how loyal he was to those he cared for deeply. Nothing was too great for his family; he would do anything. He was bigger than life! He was a good guy! I will always have fond memories of him and all of you. You all are in my thoughts and my prayers.
With much love,
Doe
I did not know Richard but I went to school with Judy and Mark was my son's baseball coach several years ago. My heart and prayers go out to to your family.
