Carole June (Rodick) Strazzella

Carole June (Rodick) Strazzella, age 82, of Claymont, DE passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2020, surrounded by her family.

Carole was born to the late Catherine and Harry Rodick. Upon graduating from P.S. DuPont High School in 1956, she worked briefly at the DuPont Company before marrying her childhood sweetheart, Gordon Strazzella in 1959. After raising her children, she went back into the workforce working for WaWa and Cigna until her retirement.

Carole was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a loving sister, cousin and friend. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in the world.  She had a great love of music and sang on the radio on the “Hit Parade” in her teens. She enjoyed gatherings with her family and friends, playing cards or bingo and cheering on her favorite sports teams. She cherished the times with her children on vacations at the beach or on any of the many adventures that came along, as long as she was with her “kids”.

Carole was young at heart and made friends everywhere she went. She will live on in the hearts of the many who loved her. She will be dearly missed by all, especially by her children, Sharon Gonzales (Ed), Terri Ciccone (Joe), Dianne Manucci (Frank), Scott Strazzella (Stacey), Cathleen Strazzella (Leland), as well as her 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Rodick.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 10am to 11am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday morning at 11am. A private interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
