Doris E. Pearson

Doris Elizabeth Pearson, age 86, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Claymont, DE passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice.

Doris was member of the Church of the Ascension, where she was a member of the choir.  She was a lifetime member of the Claymont Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.  Doris was a longtime Girl Scout Leader.  Also, she volunteered on the Junior Board at St. Francis Hospital and was a member of Claymont Women’s Club.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Earl A. Pearson; son, Charles R. Pearson; and granddaughter, Amanda Rowe.  She is survived by her children, John E. Pearson of Wilmington, DE, Susan Rowe of Wilmington, DE, Mary Kathy Ross of FL, Cindy Oakman (Frank) of Wilmington, DE, David W. Pearson (Megan) of Claymont, DE; grandchildren, John, Danny, Katherine, Reed, David, Christopher, Jenna and Kim; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 10am at Churc of the Ascension, 3717 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.  Friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.  Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
