Helen Gilmore passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2019, at the age of 73.
Helen was born in 1945 in Philadelphia, PA, to John and Frances Echtermeyer. She was a 1963 graduate of Hallahan High School. She married James Gilmore on June 13, 1964. Helen worked as an accountant at Harvey Hanna & Associates, as a long time, dedicated employee. She lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures, such as catching up with her grandchildren, spending time with her family at the beach, traveling with friends and of course – shopping.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Mike) Casino and Kim (John) D’Amico; son, James Gilmore; grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan, John, Gabriel, and Sophia; sisters, Mary (Steve) Cherry and Frances (William) Davenport; along with many nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband, James Gilmore; parents, John and Frances Echtermeyer; sisters, Catherine Curran and Joan Mooney.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Helen touched are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where friends may gather to celebrate her life from 10am to 11am. Burial will be private.
