Jacob “Frank” F. Baker, Jr., age 88, of Claymont, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2018, with his family by his side. Jacob was born in Duplin County, NC. and was the son of Jacob and Alice Baker. Jacob was preceded in death by his brothers, Norwood and Earl Baker, and sister, Ester Finch; he is survived by brother, Austin Baker and sister, Doris Evans, all of North Carolina.
Jacob moved to Claymont in 1966 and was a merchant seaman with the Sun Oil Company for 24 years. Upon retiring, Jacob enjoyed a quiet life at home spending time with his family. Jacob is survived by his wife, Priscilla of 64 years, a daughter, Gale Baker of Orrstown PA, son, Jacob F. Baker, III (Cheryl) of Townsend DE, four grandsons, Kevin Gunning, Jr., Matthew Gunning, Jacob F. Baker, IV, Kyle Baker and great granddaughter, Saylor Gunning.
A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held at noon on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Charles Price Memorial Park, Pav # 3, 955 Levels Road, Middletown, DE 19709. Our family would like to invite all family and friends to attend. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated employees at Compassionate Care for their help and kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America/Purple Heart.
