Jeanette Anne Matinas, age 63, of Claymont, DE, former Bucks County, PA resident, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 25, 2017, at Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit at Jefferson Methodist Hospital, Philadelphia, PA.

Born in Trenton, NJ, Jeanette lived in Morrisville, PA prior to moving to Claymont DE, New Castle County. She was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and surviving Nona Matinas.

Growing up, Jeanette was a member of the local Girl Scout Troop located in Morrisville. She also was a confirmed member of Holy Trinity Church, Morrisville, PA. Her summer years were spent at the Morrisville Community Pool where she learned to swim and joined the swim team when she was 9 years old. Later, she worked there as a lifeguard.

Jeanette attended Holy Trinity School from Kindergarten to 3rd grade, M.R.Reiter Elementary 4th to 6th and then Morrisville High School from 7th to 12th grade, graduating in 1972. She was a member of the drama and chorus clubs along with field hockey throughout her high school years. Her accomplishments in drama were the high school plays in which she was the leading lady in both “The King and I” and “Annie Get Your Gun” She loved singing, acting and sports.

Jeanette was a 1976 graduate of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree and Teacher’s Certification. After college, she taught math for ten years. She then worked for Weiner and Associates as a computer programmer and most recently as a Senior Software Consultant for CPA Technology, LLC, Conshohocken, PA.

Jeanette was president of the Claymont Terrace Civic Association and treasurer for The Stone School. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was a member of the church choir, caller at Bingo and funnel cake booth organizer.  Jeanette was also an alumna of Sisters of AOPI.

Jeanette joins her father, Joseph Matinas in heaven.  She will be sadly missed by her son, Todd Huber; mother, Nona J. Matinas; brothers, James A. Matinas and Kenneth E. Matinas; sister, Catherine “Kate” E. Matinas; and many nieces, cousins and their families.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12pm, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where friends may visit with the family from 10am to 12pm.  Burial will be private
