Thomas Leaman O’Hanlon, Sr., age 69, of Wilmington, DE passed away surrounded by family on August 25, 2017.

Tom was born in Chester, PA.  Tom was the youngest son of George O’Hanlon and Lavinia Smith Modowski.  He graduated from Chichester High School in 1966.  Following high school, Tom enlisted in the Marines and proudly served in the Vietnam War.  As the saying goes, “Once a Marine, Always a Marine.”

Around 1975, Tom became a pipe fitter for fire suppression companies.  He worked his way up and ended his career as an Executive Vice President of Red Lion Group, Inc.

Tom was a devoted and loving father to two daughters and one son.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, telling corny jokes and playing games. 

Tom was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Buddy, Ann, Donald, Joan, John and Joseph.  He is survived by his wife, Donna O’Hanlon of Wilmington, DE; and his children, Lavinia DiSanto, Erin O’Hanlon and Thomas L. O’Hanlon, Jr.  Tom is also survived by his grandchildren, Kasey O’Hanlon, Dakota O’Hanlon, Brittani O’Hanlon, Erin O’Hanlon, Jacob DiSanto, Nicholas DiSanto and many loved nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be promptly at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
