William Kennedy Wilson

William Kennedy Wilson, age 78, of New Castle, DE passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Brandywine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he has been lovingly cared for since January 2017. 

He was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Roy H. and Marion Howard Wilson.  Bill graduated from William Penn High School, 1958, Eastern University, 1967, Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary, 1978 and Marywood University Graduate School of Social Work, 1996.

He led a life of service as a Caseworker for the Dept. of Public Welfare, Philadelphia, PA, Pastor of Hebron Mennonite Church, Hagerstown, MD, Pastor of Lakeview Mennonite Church, Lakeview PA and finally, a Psychiatric Social Worker at Clarks Summit State Hospital, Clarks Summit, PA.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra Lee Wilson; his sister, Lois J. Simpkins of Pennsville, NJ; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.  Bill will be remembered by many as a loyal, generous and caring friend. Bill loved dogs, loved to hike and canoe and enjoyed searching for just the right gear.  He was a voracious reader of books on theology and philosophy and loved a good discussion.

Bill was a member of New Castle Presbyterian Church, 25 East 2nd St., New Castle, DE, where a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday,  February 2, 2019 at 1:00pm  followed by a reception.
