Albert Zecca, Sr.

Albert Zecca, Sr., of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children at his home on January 4, 2022.  He was 90. 

One of eight children, Albert was a first generation American born to Italian immigrant parents in Wilmington, DE. He was a career truck driver who drove all over the United States.

Albert is predeceased by his parents, Raimondo and Ida of Olevano Sul Tusciano, Italy, his son, Alex Tortella of Wilmington, DE and his 5 brothers and 2 sisters. 

He is survived by his four children, Raymond of Wilmington, DE, Helene of Hillsboro Beach,  FL, Albert of Wilmington, DE and Joel of Vicenza, Italy.  He also leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Albert will be extremely missed by his family and many friends at truck stops and gas stations across  New Castle County.  Albert’s generosity, many stories, sense of humor, and infectious smile will be sorely missed.
