Ann L. Northwood, age 82, formerly of Claymont, DE, passed away on March 1, 2022 at the Wayne Center in Wayne, Pennsylvania.

The youngest of five children, Ann was born in Philadelphia to the late Leslie and Myrtle (Benjamin) Northwood on July 1, 1939.  Ann was retired from Opportunity Centers, Inc., where she worked all of her adult life.  Before she retired, she was an avid player of the lottery.  The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Ann.  She was happiest at home and enjoyed listening to record albums (including Lawrence Welk and Pat Boone), watching old-time tv shows and doing jigsaw puzzles.                          

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Leslie and Myrtle (Benjamin) Northwood and her big brothers, Leslie (Bob) Northwood, Jr. and Gerald Northwood.

Ann is survived by her brother, Richard Northwood; sister, Janet Cavolt; sister-in-law, Joan Northwood; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont DE 19703. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ann’s memory to Atonement United Methodist Church, 3519 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.
