Carol Lee Parsons

Carol Lee Parsons, age 77, of Dover, DE passed away peacefully on June 27, 2021 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Carol was born in 1943 to John Francis and Alice Mary Gorman in Coatesville, PA. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Chester and the Nursing School of Wilmington. Carol retired after a successful career as a registered nurse working in hospitals including Sacred Heart, Chester, Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Riddle Memorial and Milford Memorial Hospital.

In addition to spending time with family and close friends, Carol’s passions included traveling, crocheting/knitting, painting, playing the organ, horseback riding and tinkering. All in the family fondly remember the numerous Sunday excursions taken all over the Mid-Atlantic States and Colorado, where Carol resided for a number of years. Carol was very much known as a creative/crafty person as well as someone who could fix or assemble just about anything she put her mind to.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, John and Alice Gorman and sister, Patricia O’Donnell.

Surviving relatives include daughter, Cynthia Lenkiewicz (Michael); son, Daniel Chesnet; great-nephew, Daniel Vail; siblings, John Gorman (Pat), Kathleen Main and William Gorman (Carolyn); grandchildren, Ashley Wheatley (Bryan) and Steven Lenkiewicz (Sylena); great-granddaughter, Lyla Wheatley; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Viewing will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday morning at 11am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.  Burial will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Township Line Road and Market Street, Linwood, PA 19061.
