Carolyn L. Agostinelli

Carolyn Krauss Agostinelli, age 81, of Swedesboro, New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 10, 2023, with her two daughters by her side. For so many years, Carolyn fought through her medical challenges with grace, courage, and dignity, but she has now joined her parents, Mildred and Rodney Krauss and her dearest cousin, Jane Snyder in heaven.

Carolyn was born and raised in Claymont, DE and was a graduate of Claymont High School, Class of 1959.  She was the Vice President of her class, and her classmates wrote “To know Carolyn was to have a friend.”  And, that was so very true.  She loved to dance and could jitterbug with the best of them! Her smile was as big as they come especially when she was seen driving through the streets of Claymont in her 1956 baby blue Chevy.  After graduation, Carolyn went to work at Continental Life in Wilmington, DE, where she spent many years.  Her business career eventually led her to Beneficial National Bank, where she remained employed until her retirement.  Carolyn was such a bright light in the lives of so many and loved and adored by her family (especially her Aunt Ethelene) and friends.  Her priority was always her family, especially her two daughters, as well as her grandchildren for whom she showed her love every day.

Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, cousin (Cyon) and friend.  Carolyn leaves behind Gus, her husband of 43 years, who remained close by her side these last few years when her health challenges began to increase and limit what she was able to do on her own.  Gus will continue to cherish the sweet memories they shared together, remembering all the good times they spent traveling both around and outside of the country, seeing the sights, and typically getting lost!  Carolyn is survived by her 2 daughters and their families, Dawn (Craig and Ryan) and Diane (Melissa) as well as her step-children (Robert, Wendy, Jay).  She is loved by an extended family of several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she will be missed deeply by so many.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont DE 19703, on Friday, April 21 from 10AM to 11AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM immediately followed by interment, which will take place in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
