Carolyn Wolfe Burlew went to be with her parents, John Thomas Wolfe and Jenny Rowan Wolfe, on Saturday, September 2, 2023. She was a resident of Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA.

Carolyn was proud to be a former Delaware native. Carolyn taught at River Road, Old Mill Lane, and Lancashire Elementary Schools. She was a 1955 graduate of Claymont High School, a graduate of Radford University, and received her Master's Degree from West Chester University.

Carolyn was a past member of Atonement and Hillcrest Methodist Churches. She was a past member of the Stoney Run Questers, the Alpha Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, and past Regent of the Caesar Rodney NSDAR.

As an only child, Carolyn treasured her family and friends. She adored her daughter, Sharon Burlew Fischer Bernardini (Raymond), her three grandsons, Jeffrey Rowan Fischer (Talitha), Jonathan Michael Fischer (Damiano), and Tyler James Fischer. Her three great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, Holly, Amelia and Liam Fischer. She enjoyed music, birds, antiques, family history, cats, duplicate bridge and her grand-dog, Daisy.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Atonement United Methodist Church, 3519 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, from 10:00am until 11:00am, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00am. Interment will directly follow the service in Bethel Cemetery, 312 Bethel Cemetery Road, Chesapeake City, MD, 21915. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Friends of the Claymont Stone School, PO Box 136, Claymont, DE 19703.
