Catherine L. Laird Obituary

Catherine “Cass” L. Laird (nee: Slaughter, Rich), age 76, of Claymont, DE passed away October 7, 2020.  


Cass was born in Philadelphia, PA to Catherine and Charles Slaughter. She lived in Southwest Philadelphia, PA, Long Beach Island, NJ and Earlville, MD.  Cass enjoyed the beach, boating, crabbing and sunsets.  She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.  Cass was a selfless and giving mother, mom-mom, sister, aunt and friend.  She will be dearly missed. 


Cass was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sharon; brothers, Robert and Charles; husband, Larry. She is survived by her son, John Rich (Joanne); daughter, Dawn Giorgi (Joseph); grandchildren, Jenn, Jimmy, Melissa, Shawn, Sharon; great grandson, Mason; and nieces and nephews.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to local food banks in her honor.
