David J. Alexander, age 78, died on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Wilmington Hospital.
David was born in Quakertown, Maryland, however, he resided in Chester, PA. He graduated from John Dickinson High School in 1966. After high school he attended driving school, where he acquired his CDL License. Dave loved driving his big rigs. He later moved to Las Vegas where he became a great chef at the Sahara Casino, from there he moved to Texas, where his brother, Bob and family also lived and he became an auto technician. In his free time, they enjoyed fishing and golfing together. Upon his return to Delaware in 1986 to be the best man at his brother’s wedding and ultimately meeting the love of his life Betty Shinn. He remained in Delaware and returned to his passion of truck driving and running his own company “Roundabout Incorporated” where he retired. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool with family, watching football, thrift flipping, cooking and listening to oldies while spending time on the porch with his family. For the last 33 years he has lived in Wilmington, DE with his wife, Betty and kids.
He is predeceased by his father, David Alexander, his mother, Betty Ingargiola (Schaffer). David is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Betty Alexander (Shinn), his three sons, Clinton Alexander of Pennsylvania, George Schwartz of Delaware and Curtis Alexander, his daughter, Tabatha Schwartz, his three brothers, Robert W. Alexander (Mary), William Alexander (Rita), Richard Alexander, and two sisters, Debra Voshell (Craig), and Susan Gott, he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and his grandsons, Jacob and Noah.
