David Nelson Johnson, fondly known as “Buzz” by his friends passed away suddenly at the age of 62 on October 28, 2022.
David attended Chester High School, working part time at The West End Boat Club, He enlisted in The United States Army shortly after high school. His Army tour of duty included Parachuting detail in the Middle East.
David worked various construction jobs and learned many trades, West Windows, Bill Ward Construction and for the past 16 years had been employed by SOJ Construction, LLC in Wilmington, Delaware.
He lived in Wilmington, Delaware for the past 20 years, and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, 5101 Governor Printz Boulevard, Wilmington, Delaware 19809.
David has two beautiful daughters, the late Dawn Marie Gorman of Claymont and Christina Lee Johnson of Essington, and his sister, Rita Stingle of Scottsdale, AZ. He has 6 grandchildren, Logan, Ean and Aiden of Claymont along with Teanna, Thomas and Connor of Essington. David is also survived by his former wife Joan Johnson of Parkside, PA.
Services will be held on Sunday, November 20th, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, Delaware.
Anyone who would like to say a few words or stories of David are welcomed and much appreciated. We have a small buffet luncheon planned immediately after the services at Mazzellas Italian for friends and family.
