Dawn Marie Gorman

On December 28, 2021, in the middle of the night, Dawn Gorman passed away after her 5+ year battle with cancer at 42 years old.

Dawn was born September 17, 1979 to David Johnson (Father), and Joan Siple (Mother), at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Chester, PA. She is survived by her husband, John Gorman and their three sons, Logan, Aiden and Ean; her mother, Joan; her father, David; her dad, Shawn Finegan, who raised her since she was a small child; her sister, Christina; and her brother, Michael.

Dawn grew up in the Chester-Upland area of Delaware County and also briefly lived in Ridley, PA, where she attended and graduated from Ridley High School, a very proud achievement in her younger life. She then went on to pursue a lifelong career in banking and finance, working at various institutions such as Santander, T.D., Commerce, and Bancorp.

On December 31, 2005, Dawn married her childhood friend, John at Yerkes, a small wedding salon in Lansdowne, PA. Dawn and John shared the joy of having three sons. Dawn was a devoted and loving wife, a proud and dedicated mother, and a strong advocate for any cause that touched her family. Such causes included raising awareness for Autism, mental health, LGBTQ+ rights, and families affected by Cancer. Dawn was first diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer in the spring of 2016. Though devastating as such news would be to anyone, she remained strong and vigilant, never shying away from surgery, chemo, or radiation, all while being the foundation of her family. Dawn never gave up and never lost hope that she would be able to defeat the cancer that eventually ended her young life.
