Eva M. Smith Obituary
Eva M. Smith, aged 64, of Wilmington, DE passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She graduated from Claymont High School in 1979.
Eva was the wife of James P. Smith, who owns and operates Jack Smith’s Towing and Service Center. Eva was devoted to her family. She was also a lifelong Phillies fan, a Cowboys fan, and loved everything about Christmas. She enjoyed going to garage sales and thrift stores.
Eva was predeceased by her parents, Francis M. McBride, Jr. “Mac” and Nancy M. (Springer) McBride, and her brother Jack M. McBride.
In addition to her husband, Eva is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Kristina (Christopher Potter) and Kelley (Michael Giberson); her brother Francis M. McBride III (Sherry); her sister Diana M. Geare; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Christiana Hospital ICU Unit 3 – East, for their care and compassion during Eva’s final hours.
Services for Eva will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. Friends may visit between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon. Funeral service will be at 12 noon, with entombment in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
