George Ezra Haak III, age 81, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024.

Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, George was the son of George Haak Jr. and Marion Haak (née Dietrick). George was a man of many passions and accomplishments. He attended Lycoming College in Williamsport Pennsylvania, where he developed a love for learning that stayed with him throughout his life. George embarked on a fulfilling career at AstraZeneca, where before retiring; he contributed to the pharmaceutical industry for over 35 years.

Outside of his professional life, George had a deep love for aviation. He spent countless hours building and flying airplanes, a hobby that brought him great joy and a sense of freedom. His love for gardening also played a significant role in his life, as he found satisfaction in tending to his beautiful yard. He was known for his inquisitive mind and was always eager to help anyone who needed it. George was known for his daily ritual of going out to lunch, a time when he would connect with his wife over good food and great conversation. His warm smile, kind heart, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

George is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Linda Haak (née Gooding), as well as his two daughters, Sally Cannon Dunlop (Rusty) and Sandy Hanstein (Ron); stepdaughters, Sonja Hildebrand (Donna), Marina Gooding (Joe) and stepson, Ted. He was also the proud grandfather to his grandsons, Patrick and Luca. As well as a large extended family of in-laws and cousins who will miss him very much.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George Haak Jr. and Marion Haak. He leaves behind a legacy of love, curiosity, and dedication to his family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held to honor his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made in George's honor to the Kutz Home 704 River Rd, Wilmington, DE 19809.
