Gerald “Jerry” Colin Campbell, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Wilmington, Delaware surrounded by family. He was the eldest of three children and was born in Port Angeles, Washington to the late Colin William and Ella Campbell.
Gerald attended the University of Puget Sound and the University of Washington before answering the US Army’s “call to serve” with the 2nd Infantry Division during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he graduated from the University of Puget Sound where he met his beautiful bride to be.
He joined Crown Zellerbach Corporation’s sales department and after several years moved into sales management with St. Joe Company.
Jerry’s subsequent retirement included lots of travel at home and abroad. His favorite pastime was golf with his regular foursome, and with Bette and mutual friends on weekends.
Gerald is preceded in death by his grandsons, Mark and Justin Bader. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Anne (Bette Sheasgreen) and five daughters: Alicia Bader (Mark), Cathryn Bradley (Joseph), Erin Osberg (Jeff), Kristin Johnson (Lyn), Lauren Damiano (Anthony), twenty grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren who live everywhere! Gerald is also survived by his sisters, Joan Lewis and Pamela Huddleston (Nick).
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 10:30-11:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Road, Wilmington, DE followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery in Greenville, DE.
