James R. Mathews Obituary
James Robert Mathews, age 60, of Newark, DE, formerly of Glen Mills, PA passed away September 15, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
The simple things are what brought the most joy to Jim, a beer in hand, food on the grill and dogs running around barking. He was a dedicated, hardworking and loving husband, father and brother.
Jim is survived by his wife, Laurie; his daughter, Darian; his brothers, John, Chris, Doug; many nieces; a nephew, along with a few great-nieces and great-nephew.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10am to 11am at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where a Memorial Service will begin at 11am. Burial will be private.
