It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Mae Johnson, who departed from this life on Sunday, May 25, 2025. She was 88 years old.

Janet was born on July 20, 1936 in East Waterford, PA to Helen Genevieve (Jones) Clugston and George Stine Clugston. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor who will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

She graduated from Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown, PA. After graduating, she married James Frank Johnson and moved to Delaware. In addition to being a dedicated mother, she held positions with multiple charities and also worked at H&R Block. 

She is survived by her four children, Edward Johnson (Karen), Sharon Molin (Ted), Barbara Carrington (Edward), and Frank Johnson; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Frank Johnson, her sister, Geraldine Zeigler, and her brother, Gregg Clugston. 

A memorial service to celebrate Janet Mae Johnson's life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10 AM for visitation and 11 AM for service at Atonement Methodist Church, 3519 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE  19703. Additionally, a private burial will be held in Juniata County, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any charity in Janet Mae Johnson's memory, as she was a supporter of so many charities.
