Jeremy G. Elder

Jeremy George Elder, a carpenter and life-long resident of Claymont, DE, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2023, at the age of 36, after a battle with cancer, surrounded by his Mom and Dad.

Jeremy is survived by his parents, Michael and Edna Mae Elder; brother, Brian (wife Kateri); sons, Kellen James and Brantland Leslie; niece, Kayla Burke; nephews, Billy Joe Burke Jr. and Patrick Burke; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.  He was predeceased by his grandparents, Harvey and Violet Kirkner and James and Delores Elder; and uncle, Dean Kirkner.

Jeremy was a devoted father and an avid bowler.  He competed at the local association, Amateur Bowlers Tour, and Professional level.   He was 2010-2011 PBA East Region Rookie of the Year.  He was also a member of the Underground Bowling Association Team Usual Suspects which he enjoyed bowling with a lot of his friends and competing.   Jeremy had 46 (300’s) – first 300 was in 2005 and several (800’s).   He was a 2004 graduate of Brandywine High School.  He was a member of Claymont Fire Company for many years.  Jeremy also enjoyed taking his trailer and going camping with his boys ,Kellen and Brantland, his companion, Tammy Dutton and their dogs, Milo and Mia.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Claymont Fire Company Hall, 3223 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, from 12Noon until 2:30pm, where a memorial service will begin at 2:30pm.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to his sons, Kellen James and Brantland Leslie at KJBLELDER@GMAIL.COM through Zelle – this account has a savings account set up through Citizens Bank.
