John Patrick Brady, Jr., age 69, of Claymont, DE passed away on January 10, 2026.

John was born to John “Jack” and Ethel Brady in 1956.  He was the oldest of three boys.  He graduated from Claymont High School in 1974.  John was a proud oil refinery operator for the Sunoco Oil Company in Marcus Hook for over 40 years.  He enjoyed classic cars and collecting car model kits.  He will be remembered for his love of reading and the “vast well of useless” information that he always had at his fingertips.

John is survived by his three children, John P. Brady, III, Margaret Smith, and Christine Brady, their significant others, Kimberly Brady, Matthew Smith and William Shea.  As well as his six granddaughters, Bridget, Molly, Jonalynn, Penelope, Rayanne, and Richelle and his younger brother, Michael Brady.  John is also survived by a large extended family of cousins, aunts and uncles.

A Visitation will be held at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 12:00pm until 1:00pm, where a memorial service will begin at 1:00pm.  Burial will be private.
