John Anthony “Jack” Regan, age 85, of Claymont, Delaware, formerly of Scranton Pennsylvania, passed peacefully on July 12, 2024.

Jack was the son of the late John and Ann Regan and a 1956 graduate of West Scranton High School, Scranton, Pennsylvania. During high school, Jack worked for Ma’s Old Fashion Soda Company. Soon afterward, while roller skating at Town Hall, John met the love of his life, Mary Siwek. They were married in Scranton and remained married for 64 years.

After serving 4 years in the Navy, Jack received an opportunity to manage the Gaylords Department Store in Wilmington, DE. As a result, he moved his family to Claymont, Delaware, where he has lived for the last 60 years.

After his time at Gaylords, Jack shifted his focus to real estate. He became a salesman for Hilton Lifetime Homes and then Presidential Custom Homes. He eventually became the owner of Presidential Custom Homes.

Jack spent his life as a working father, loving husband and all around good guy while raising two children. He was also a member of Holy Rosary Church for over 60 years.

Jack is survived by his sister, Mary and brother, Billy; his daughter, Mare Palmer; son, Martin Regan; and five grandchildren, Rachel Palmer, Kylie Palmer, Jake Palmer, Taylor Regan and Sean Regan.

Nothing brought more joy to him than his 5grandchildren. Grandpa loved them all equally and passionately. Forever curious of their endeavors and supportive of their dreams.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike Claymont, DE 19703. A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Friday, July 26 at 11:00am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, Delaware. A private burial will take place at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
