John Derek Rowe, Sr., age 70, of Newark, Delaware, formerly of Claymont, DE and New Castle, DE passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024.

John was born in Ft. Bragg, NC, the son of the late John B. and Margaret Hubbard Rowe.  He was a graduate of De La Warr High School, Class of 1972.  He retired from PNC Bank as a systems analyst in ATM Operations.  John’s favorite pastime was playing the drums.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Rowe in 2009.  He is survived by his son, John D. Rowe, Jr. (Jennifer) of Columbia, MD; grandchildren, Laurann Rowe, Julie Curry, Jacob Curry, Elizabeth Rowe, Esme Rowe; brother, Robert Rowe; sister, Maryellen Plumback; nieces and nephew, Peggy Rice, Vicki Bonnes, Joanna Rowe, Kaylynn Rowe and Andrew Rowe.

A visitation will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 from 10am to 11am at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where a Funeral Service will begin at 11am.  Burial will follow in Lombardy Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
