Judith B. DuRoss

Judith B. DuRoss, age 82, of Claymont, DE passed away March 9, 2021, surrounded by family.

Judy was a 1956 graduate of Claymont High School.  She retired from the University of Delaware Athletic Department after 32 years of service.  She was a member of the Church of the Ascension for 76 years.  Judy’s career at the U of D included many responsibilities, including team travel and ticket sales.  As loyal fans, Judy and Mike attended Tailgates and football games for over 40 years. Upon retirement from the U of D, she utilized her travel skills at Charlie B. Travels for eleven additional years.

Judy had a love of ice skating, including free skating and shows at the Wilmington Skating Club.  She and her husband enjoyed sailing in the Caribbean, as well as spending many seasons on their boat sailing the Chesapeake Bay.  Their extensive travel included Africa, plus a thorough exploration of the British Isles.

A genuine love of all animals was always present with Judy.  A variety of cats were constant lifetime companions.

Judy is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 59 years, Mike DuRoss; her sister, Barbara Petroll; seven nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, a contribution in her memory may be made to the Church of the Ascension, 3717 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.
