Kathleen M. Kern

Kathleen “Kathy” Kern, age 69, of Wilmington, Delaware, died peacefully at home on April 23, 2023.

Kathy graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and worked for Lima Estates Nursing Home for over 25 years. While working for Lima she furthered her education by getting her degree in healthcare. She also was a Girl Scout leader for her daughter and granddaughters. She enjoyed spending her time at the beach, cooking, thrift shopping with her cousins, watching her granddaughters play sports and being around family. 

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Jill Wyshock, her 3 granddaughters, Anastasia Watson, Irene Watson and Katalena Watson; her brothers, Robert Kern (Joan) and nieces, (Jennifer and Ali Kern); William (Bill) Kern (Debra) and nephew, (Matthew Kern); Tom Kern (Colleen) and nephew (Tommy Kern and niece Melinda Kern); Steve Kern (Beth) and nephews. (Ben Kern and Taylor Kern).

A visitation will be held at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 6:00PM until 7:30PM, where a memorial service will begin at 7:30pm
