Lawrence F. Grace, Sr., age 85, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home, June 10, 2022, while holding the hand of his wife of 63 years, Patricia.

Larry was born and raised in Claymont, DE. He was active in the renovation of the Claymont Stone School, where he attended kindergarten and volunteered his time and historical knowledge to the Claymont Library. He attended Salesianum High School, graduating in 1954. Upon graduating, he enlisted and proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Sarsfield. Larry was a devoted employee with DuPont, retiring after 35 years in 1999. In his retirement, Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Grace; sister, Bonnie Taylor; his four children, Lawrence Grace, Jr. (Linda), Tammy Volpe (Richard), Denise Poehner (Craig) and Jennifer Moore (Daniel). “Pop-pop” was loved and cherished by his nine grandchildren, Nicholas, Amanda, Shelby, Georgia, Erin, Helena, Hannah, Monica, Tyler; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Ciara. He will always be in our hearts.

Larry was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Charlene, granddaughter, Nicole and great-granddaughter, Kayla.

A Viewing will be held Monday evening, June 20, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday morning, June 21, 2022 at 11:30am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.  Burial will be private in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
