Lois Walters (McCreary) of Dagsboro, Delaware passed away peacefully on May 20 at the age of 92.
Lois was an avid golfer and loved to spend time decorating and shopping for collectibles, which her family lovingly referred to as junk shopping. Raised in Claymont, Delaware, Lois previously lived in Crofton, Maryland and Smyrna, Delaware, before settling in Sussex County.
While living in Smyrna, Lois ran several successful businesses with her family, including Lake Como Sandwich Shop, a laundromat, an apartment building, as well as a used furniture/antique store where she sold those “collectibles.”
Lois was predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret McCreary, husband William Walters Sr., and longtime companion William Black. She is survived by her son William Walters Jr. of Frankford, Delaware, daughter Lisa W. Sorantino (John) of Newark, Delaware, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be private.
