Marie I. Coyle, age 81, of Magnolia, Delaware, was called home to be with the Lord on November 29, 2024.

Marie was born in Delaware County, Pennsylvania in 1943 to her loving parents, Harry and Caroline (Fraim) Long. She was one of two daughters. In 1962, Marie married Charles Coyle. Together they raised three wonderful children. It was not uncommon to hear affectionate joking amongst the two. Their love for each other was enough to withstand the trials and tribulations of life as they were married for 62 years.

Marie’s life was a testament to the power of love and family. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when needed. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely. She would do anything for them, offering support wisdom, and love and abundance. She was a friend to many and a cherished member of the Catholic community.

Marie was preceded in death by her son, Charles Coyle, Jr.; daughter, Donna Coyle; granddaughter, Christina Marie Lester; and sister, Shirley Dougherty. She is survived by her husband, Charles Coyle; daughter, Sandra Lester; and grandchildren, Jesse Lester and Courtney Lester.

Marie was known for her kind heart, compassion, and warmth that she shared with everyone whom she met. She enjoyed going to the casino, spending time at the beach, crocheting, and reading on her kindle. There is nothing she loved more than spoiling her grandkids and great granddogs, Cleo and Lemy.

She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed. Marie leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 from 10am until 11am, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am. Burial will follow in All Saint's Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
