Matthew S. Ruvo

Matthew S. Ruvo, age 87, died peacefully in his sleep on March 15, 2022, in Wilmington, DE. 

Matt is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Eric David of Garnet Valley, PA, his grandsons, Teddy and Max and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his sister, Marie Luzzi and brother, Angelo Ruvo. 

Matt was born in Port Chester, NY to parents Phillip and Laura Ruvo. He graduated from Port Chester High School.  Upon graduation, he began working at Arnold Baker's Corporation where he worked for 44 years.

Matt was active in the Port Chester Old Timers group. He enjoyed meeting his friends for "coffee and...." usually something sweet.  He was active in Corpus Christi Church from a young boy through his adulthood.  He volunteered many summers at the annual carnival.

Matt loved Sunday dinners and holidays with the family. He was a lifelong fan of the NY Giants and Yankees! Everyone who ever knew him, remembers his friendly demeanor and sweet smile. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00am at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703.  Visitation will begin at 10:00am.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Corpus Christi Church, 136 S. Regent Street, Port Chester, NY 10573.
