Michael H. Giberson Obituary

Michael H. Giberson, age 35, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2025, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family. Michael was a devoted husband, a loyal friend, and a man whose kindness, humor and steady presence left an unforgettable impact on all who knew him.

Born on December 26, 1989, in Newark Delaware, Michael grew into a man known for his generous heart, gentle nature, and unwavering loyalty. He approached life with quiet strength and a deep love for the people and passions that shaped him.

Michael was an accomplished and dedicated bowler, proudly achieving seventeen perfect games- a remarkable milestone few ever reach. The bowling community was an important part of his life, and his sportsmanship, talent, and humility earned him the admiration of many.

He was also a passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Phillies. This year, he and his wife attended six Phillies games together- and at every single one, Kyle Schwarber hit a home run. Michael loved sharing the story of how he approached the ticket booth and confidently declared that they were the team’s good luck charms who deserved season tickets. The worker laughed and replied, “if only I could,” a moment Michael cherished and retold with pride.

Above all else, Michael was a loving husband whose greatest joy was the life he built with his family. His warmth, humor and calming presence made every day brighter. Though his time here was far too short, the love, laughter and memories he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Kelley; his brothers, David (Jennifer) Giberson and Shawn (Courtney) Turner; niece, Abigail Turner; nephew, Liam Turner; aunts, Donna (Stan) Semones and Sandra (Jim) Grear; and several other family members and dear friends. He is also survived by his three dogs that he called his children: Scooter, Boomer and Cocoa. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kathleen Giberson, grandparents, George Giberson, Sr., Jean Mingo, and Doris and Harvey Moulder.

A Viewing will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 10am to 12pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, followed by a Funeral Service at 12noon. Burial will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pennsylvania.
