Monalee F.West, age 66, of Claymont, DE, formerly of Virginia Beach, VA, died Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, DE. 

Monalee graduated from A.I. DuPont High School in 1975. She attended the University of Delaware and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Lincoln University, where she graduated with Masters of Human Services.  Her occupation was a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in multiple locations in the state of Virginia and Delaware.  She loved performing in off Broadway shows and musicals, especially at the Candlelight Dinner Theater and The Three Little Bakers Dinner Theater.

Monalee was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and grandmother.  She was preceded in death by her father, Richard C. Olin, her son, Aaron West, her sister, Victoria Hoover and her grandson, Bowen Gillis.  She is survived by her husband, Jay D. West; her mother, Eleanor McClaren; her twin daughters, Heather Gillis and Tammie Hodgson; her son, Jordan West; her siblings, Leonard Olin, Ronald Olin, Curt Olin, Richard Olin, Sharon Carney; and her 17 grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 10:00am until 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of  Latter-day Saints, 143 Dickinson Lane, Wilmington, DE 19807, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00am.  Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720.
