Patricia Lynn Boyd

Patricia Lynn Boyd, age 60, of Wilmington lost her two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. 

Patty attended Silverside Elementary and Mt. Pleasant Jr. and Sr. High School.  She loved the beach and enjoyed spending time at the family's home in Wildwood, New Jersey.  She was a marketing specialist with DART First State for over 27 years.  While at DART she established the bus agency’s “Stuff the Bus" campaign, which started as a two-day event in New Castle County and grew into a six-day statewide event, collecting multiple tons of food for the needy.  After retiring from DART two years ago, she still remained active in "Stuff the Bus."  She was involved in the establishment and promotion of the transit entities "Beach Bus" service to the Delaware Beaches.  Patty served for over ten years on the Town of Elsmere Board of Adjustment.

 he is survived by her husband of 40 years, Donald A. Bennett II, of Wilmington, her parents, Eugene and Betty Jean (Fiss) Boyd, her sister, Susan Peiffer (Garry) of Hockessin, her nephew, Joseph Peiffer and her beloved dog, Concord. 

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 10-11:00 am at Holly Oak Calvary United Methodist Church, 1511 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will take place following the service at Silverbrook Cemetery in Wilmington.
