Philomena Rita Lardear

Philomena Rita Lardear, age 94, of Claymont, DE died peacefully in her sleep on October 28, 2022.

Philomena, one of 6 children, was born in Wappingers Falls, NY to the late Rocco and Carmela Campala. She was the beloved wife of the late John E. Lardear and survived by her children, Joseph L. Lardear (Susan), John P. Lardear (Deborah), Louis Lardear (Lorelee), Linda Lardear Carney (Frank); seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. 

Philomena was a homemaker and great mom.  Her many talents included cooking for her family and sewing. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t sew, she worked from home for a boutique to help her children attend the best schools.  Her favorite hobbies were line dancing and Bingo. Up until a few years ago, you could find Philomena tearing up the dance floor at Claymont Community Center to her favorite line dance/song "Hell Ya I Like Beer".

 A special thank you to Ivy Gables Senior Living staff, where mom lived for the last year and a half, for the exceptional care and love they gave mom during her stay.

A private graveside service for immediate family only will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
