Richard DiCristofaro, age 69, of Swedesboro, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025. He was born and raised in Claymont, Delaware to the late Richard and Margaret (Thatcher) DiCristofaro.
Richard graduated from Claymont High School in 1973. He worked in the banking industry for 20 years. Before retiring, he was an employee of the Brandywine School District, where he was a paraprofessional for students with disabilities.
Richard enjoyed watching sports, coaching Special Olympics, playing poker with friends, occasional trips to the casino and spending time with his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sue DiCristofaro; daughters, Andrea Harmon (Chad) and Lisa DiCristofaro; and two grandchildren, Landon and Gabriella.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, Delaware. An interment service will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made through the Special Olympics website.
