Richard J. “Dick” Ringie, age 95, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2020. He was the son of the late Garry and Catherine Ringie. A graduate of St. Joseph High School, Pittsfield, MA, Dick served in the US. Navy during WWII.
Dick was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ellen (Walls), with whom he will be interred after having shared 32 wonderful years.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Patricia McGinnis of Lenox, MA; his two sons, Kevin Ringie (Collette) of East Granby, CT, and Shaun Ringie of Manila, Philippines; and his stepdaughter, Elizabeth Bramble, of Claymont, DE. He was predeceased by Jeanette Ringie, the mother of his children, and his second wife, Christine Corrigan.
He was also blessed with eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren..
Dick was also beloved by many cherished friends, especially Ed Cruciano, Missy and Andy Zeager of Wilmington DE.
He worked for many years at Sun Shipping before working at, and retiring from the USPS.
Dick remained independent until his death. He was an active member and regular visitor of the Moose, Eagles, Elks and Brandywine Clubs, the VFW and American Legion. He was an avid reader, who enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, woodworking, and traveling.
A Celebration of Life will be held with burial at a later date. Contributions can be made to Moose Lodge 847 or the American Cancer Society in his name.
