Richard L. ”Dick” Curry, Sr., age 84, of Garnet Valley PA and Wilmington,  DE passed away peacefully on Sunday,  December 3, 2023 at Foulk Living Nursing Home, Wilmington, DE.

Richard was a Christian man who loved God, his family and his church. He lived his life in Christ's testimony.

Richard had a 41 year career as a Junior and Senior High School Music Teacher and Choral Director with most of those years spent at Concord High School. He won several awards for his choirs that traveled around this country and other places in Europe to compete in various choral festivals.

Dick was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in his spare time.

Richard was predeceased by his wife, Deanna Curry of 60 years.  He is survived by his daughter, Denise Curry of Wilmington, DE; son, Richard Curry and his wife,  Carla Curry of Marcus Hook, PA; daughter, Kristen Jabkowski and her husband, Aaron of Mesa, AZ; sisters, Louise Sommers of Middletown, DE, Dorothy Matlack of Curwensville, PA; and 7 grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 from 10am – 11:30am at Chichester United Wesleyan Church, 5151 Chichester Avenue, Upper Chichester, PA 19014, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30am.  Burial will follow in Siloam United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3720 Foulk Road., Garnet Valley, PA 19060. Following  the graveside service, all are invited to a luncheon at Chichester United Wesleyan Church.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Richard Curry to the Chichester United Wesleyan Church.
