Robert Chappell, born on December 25, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 23, 2026, in New Castle, Delaware. He was 70 years old
Robert dedicated much of his professional life to serving others through his roles as a manager at ABC Auto Parts and later as the manager of the Boy Scout Shop. His career reflected his commitment to hard work and his passion for supporting his community.
A proud lifelong Boy Scout, Robert embodied the values of scouting throughout his life. His dedication extended beyond personal involvement as he shared his knowledge and skills with others. He also served as a motorcycle safety coach, helping riders navigate the roads with confidence and care. In addition to these pursuits, Robert enjoyed cowboy action shooting, a hobby that combined his love of history and precision.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Melanie; his sisters Terrie Kelsey (and her husband Steven) and Patricia Baillargeon (and her husband Craig); and his niece Lea Chappell. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Grace Chappell.
May Robert’s memory, bring comfort to those who knew him and inspire others to live with the same dedication and enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of his life. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at SAINTS PETER & PAUL UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH 1406 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809.
