Obituary

Sheila M. Magill

On July 2, 2023, Sheila M. Magill passed away peacefully after a short illness at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, PA.  She was 80 years old.

Sheila was born in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Francis and Mary Magill.  She worked as a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital and ended her career at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, both in Philadelphia, PA.

Besides her love of animals, she had a fierce love of children. Nothing put a bigger smile on her face than when she was with those she called her family, adopted children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia M. Miller, her nephew, George H. Miller III and many loving cousins.

She is survived by her nephews, Michael F. Miller, Francis J. “Buck” Miller (Patty), Jeffrey P. Miller (Jennifer); great nephews and nieces, Christopher George Miller (Sandy), Kyle Miller (Lindsey), Amanda Collette (Matthew), Ryan Miller (Kathryn), Cody Miller (Kendall), Jacy Dyer (Taylor), Christian A. Miller; Carson P. Miller; great great nephews and nieces, Landon, Hudson, Hunter, Arthur and Autumn, Benjamin and Noah, Thatcher, Mylee, Maryn, Olivia, and Scout. cousin, Mary Lou Jones; and her niece in law, Nancy Miller.

Sheila also leaves behind to mourn her loss her best friend and confidant of over 40 years, Delores Beede. It may seem like a non-traditional family unit from the outside, but Sheila’s bond with Dee’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren is no different than if they’d been related by blood.  Surviving as if they were her own are children,  John Beede (Elizabeth), Diane Pietrzak (Joe), Heather Beede (Jim); grandchildren, Joey (Aaryn), John III (Solstice), her goddaughter, Jennifer (Mark), Danielle (Joe), Paige (Matt) and Fallon; great grandchildren, Brielle, Makenna, Joey III, Irelynn, Ashton, Aislynn, Layla and Delaney.

Sheila was dedicated to her family and always came through in times of need, no matter the circumstances.  You could always count on her to help you out, she is truly missed.
