Teresa Ann Maciejewski, 69, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, in Wilmington, DE. Born in Port Chester, New York, Teresa was a beloved daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend.
A 1974 graduate of Greenwich High School, Teresa earned an Associate’s Degree in Executive Secretarial Studies from Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts. She dedicated over 30 years to Gebhart Funeral Home, in Claymont, DE, serving families with compassion, care, and professionalism. Teresa’s generous spirit extended beyond her career—she joyfully assisted neighbors, supported the elderly, and offered help wherever it was needed, always with warmth, patience, and kindness. A faithful Catholic, she lived her beliefs through service, family, and love for others. Proud of her Polish heritage, Teresa cherished her roots and worked to keep family traditions and culture alive.
Teresa was a proud parent to her son, Christopher, and this love continued with her granddaughter, Layla. She treasured every moment with them, creating lasting memories through visits to parks, exploring the outdoors, and sharing stories. Her joy came from watching them grow, embracing life together, and instilling a sense of love and family connection that will endure through the generations.
She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Maciejewski; her parents, Charles and Bernice Domaszewski; and her nephew, David Nix.
Teresa is survived by her loving granddaughter, Layla Maciejewski; her sisters, Barbara Sheposh (Denny) of Evansville, Indiana, and Loretta Domaszewski Ranieri (Jack) of Bozeman, Montana; her nieces and nephews, Angela Cherry (Roger), Giacomo Ranieri, and Sicily Ranieri; her great-nieces, Anna Cherry and Sophia Cherry; and numerous cousins. She was deeply loved by Layla’s mother, Jen Brennan, her family, her dearest neighbor, and friends.
Teresa’s warmth, generosity, and devotion to family and others left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She will be remembered with love and admiration.
