Theresa H. Haddock, age 91, of Wilmington, DE passed away February 2, 2025.

Theresa was born in Chester, PA, in 1933, a daughter of Lithuanian immigrants Charles and Sophie.  She attended St. Michael’s Catholic School in Chester, PA and graduated from Notre Dame Catholic Girls High School. Theresa continued her education in the Practical Nursing program of the Chester School District and became a licensed practical nurse in the Sacred Heart Hospital nursery for several years. She changed careers and became an administrative assistant for Children and Youth Services of Delaware County, where she worked until retirement.

Theresa enjoyed participating in bus trips and other activities at the Claymont and Sellers Senior Centers, where she was an active member for many years.

Theresa was a fun-loving, wonderful grandmother to her two granddaughters, Jennifer and Darby, who called her “Boppy,” which was “grandmother” in Lithuanian.  Theresa spent many hours entertaining them and enjoying their company. 

Theresa is survived by her son and daughter, Barbara and Anthony, and granddaughter, Darby. 

She was also a friend and caregiver to all types of animals, especially her beloved, spoiled dogs, and several generations of neighborhood stray cats.  Even the wild birds knew they could always depend on her for a meal “on the fly.” She will be thought of and missed by all of us.
