Thomas H. “Tom” Latch Jr. age 90, of Claymont, DE, formerly of Brookhaven, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Tom attended and graduated Chester High School, in Chester, PA, Class of 1954. After graduating, Tom immediately joined the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War.  After his years in the Navy, he went on to work for DuPont as a machinist for over 40 years until his retirement.  He had a love of flying, and was a fixed wing pilot and instructor for many years, maintaining his license long-term. He also held a part-time job for a few years working for Denco Inc. 

Tom had a love for stamp and coin collecting, football, baseball, hunting and aviation, and continued those hobbies well into his later years.

In his later years of life, he also enjoyed bowling, eating out, and of course the casino! He loved spending time with his family and friends, and adored taking care of his beloved wife Dorothy, and their granddaughter, Lucy. Tom’s overall personality, heart and strength were indescribable and will truly be missed by many, especially his grandchildren.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Hannah J. Latch; stepmother and father, Emma and Thomas H. Latch Sr.; his first wife, Patricia Latch; daughter, Susan Michelle Epright; his beloved wife of almost 41 years, Dorothy J “Dot” Latch; and his stepdaughter, Beth Ann Stack.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Jack & Sandy Latch; his daughter‘s fiancé, Angelo (C) Cavallero; grandsons, Matthew Epright and Joseph Davies Sr.; granddaughter, Lucille V. “Lucy” Stack; great grandsons, Joseph Davies Jr., Brennan Matthew Davies and Roman Jon Stack. Tom is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as his friend, Sondra McNeal.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 10:00am-11:00am at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 with service to follow at 11:00am. Burial will be private at Lawn Croft Cemetery, 1000 W. Ridge Rd, Linwood, PA 19061.
